Portfolio Manager - Ghana (Breathe Cities)

The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Portfolio manager - Ghana (Breathe Cities) to join their team in Programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution.   

As a Portfolio manager with Clean Air Fund you would help to lead the delivery of the new Breathe Cities project for a city in Ghana (and, depending on funding, its possible expansion to other Ghanaian cities in future), from strategy development to scoping and granting partners, ensuring strong partners management and monitoring and reporting progress. 

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Demonstrable alignment with CAF’s mission, values, and goals. 
  • Experience in project, programme, or grant management. 
  • Experience in financial management, including the ability to interrogate grant budgets. 
  • Experience in working on air quality or in an area relating to the Breathe Cities strategy (across data, campaign and community engagement, and city governance).
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically and to be outcome-focused, with experience in working in teams that design and execute strategies on complex issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that translate into the ability to build effective networks and manage team members effectively.
  • Fluent in English and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Closing date – 31st August, 2023
  • Salary – GHS 412,536.11 - GHS 526,337.76 (Final salary dependent on candidate's level of experience and fulfillment of the people specification for the role) 
  • Type of employment - Fixed Term - 3 year contract with possibility to extend
  • Hybrid working is included in Clean Air Fund’s policies. Home working can be facilitated for up to 50% of the time.
