Job title: Diplomacy Manager  

Location: London or Nairobi (Hybrid Working Available)

The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Diplomacy Manager to join their team on a 20-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of global efforts to tackle air pollution, driving diplomatic engagement to catalyse international action.

As a Diplomacy Manager with Clean Air Fund, you would help to advance global, regional and mini-lateral cooperation on air quality. You will work closely with governments, multilateral organisations and diplomatic groupings supporting increased commitments to clean air policies. Your role will include representing Clean Air Fund in high-level forums, building relationships with key stakeholders and developing strategies to influence decision-making in platforms such as the G20, BRICS, African Union and UN Climate Conferences (COP).

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience in international diplomacy within multilateral or regional processes, driving tangible policy change.
  • Strong political and geographical awareness, with the ability to navigate complex international negotiations.
  • Experience engaging with governments and multilateral institutions, including diplomats, policymakers, and advocacy groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft impactful advocacy materials, briefings, and strategic recommendations.
  • Project management expertise, including managing grants, service contracts and high-profile events.
  • A background in environmental policy – while you don’t need to be an air quality expert, experience in climate change or related fields is desirable.

  • Salary: GBP 55,000 to 71,000 / KES 8,364,000 to 9,226,000 per annum
  • Type of employment: Fixed-term contract (until the end of 2026, with potential for extension)
